The Liebster And Sunshine Blogger Award Mash-Up!

I have recently been nominated for two different awards, so I decided to do them as a mash up in the same post and answer all the questions that my nominees asked. I will be sharing the rules for each award, nominating and asking questions separately for each award. This way I figure can nominate more bloggers and will try to ask questions relating more specifically to the kind of award, or at least that’s the idea. If that makes sense? I was kinda confused in how I want to mash these two awards up so please bare with me.

Also if you notice rules changed or are different for the same awards etc, don’t worry you are not the only one confused or alone. I had different rules for The Liebster Award from both my nominations and I had to change the wording so it makes sense and am just doing all the rules from both.

I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by both Krissy (Strawberry Kettle) and Jeanette (My Life With PTSD & Bipolar). The Liebster Award is often given to ideally new bloggers and as I just opened this blog a couple weeks ago or less, this is a huge inspiration and means a lot to me! Thank you to both these lovely bloggers.

I use to blog over at ‘Rude Girl ~ Living in an Aspie World,’ but for personal reasons I opened this new found blog here. Woot! My blog is mainly about my life experiences with mental health illnesses, autism and other associated disorders. I hope to inspire or help other bloggers by opening up about my own life experiences and because there is such a stigma attached to these disorders or mental health illnesses I hope to contribute to ending those stigmas. I also hope to meet and be inspired by fellow bloggers. With brief spamming of music and random talks about how awesome my best friend/husband/love of my life is and whatever else pops into my head. That’s the story/reason for my blog basically.

My answers to Krissy’s questions

What fictional place would you most like to go to?
The imaginary world in my head tbh which is way to amazing and difficult to describe. xD

What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
I have already had a few pretty amazing adventures I must say, Alaska, drives through Canada, meeting my husband and that whole experience etc.
Future adventures though? That’s a tough one. I imagine here are many amazing adventures and places I want to visit. Also I may not know how amazing it will be until I go on said adventure. Some places I think would make amazing adventures would be Ireland (I always wanted to go there like since a child and so does my husband) Seeing the Grand Canyon and doing Las Vegas etc that whole thing in one trip would be ideal. I have been told the Grand Canyon is something really amazing and mind blowing. Greece is another one I really want to experience! Road trips in general are always great adventures or backpacking/camping. There are a lot more amazing adventures I am sure I will experience and want to.

What takes up too much of your time?
Writing, and music, but not in a bad way. πŸ˜› Chores.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Hugs, kisses or other loves from the hubby. Music. Going for walks. Tea. Etc.

What age do you wish you could permanently be? And why?
I don’t know if I have been an age yet that I would want to be permanently. Maybe the age I am now…29-30? Just because getting old sucks and the last year has not been so cruel to me.

What’s the best single day on the calendar? ( Jan 1st to Dec 31st)
I don’t have a best or favorite particular day. :/ Depends on the year and I don’t really keep track.

What is the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen?
I honestly don’t know right now.

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

Where is the most interesting place you have been?
Alaska, Rockies (Canada) the remote island I grew up on in my teens – young adulthood.

What’s the best way to start the day?
Waking up slowly cuddling with the husband, coffee is already made from the night before and all you have to do is press the button. Turn coffee on, go out have the first smoke of the morning and go back to relaxing/drinking coffee. I am not a morning person and I always take my dear sweet time to get moving.

My answers to Jeanette’s questions:

What keeps you going in life?
Music, my husband, the little things in life I enjoy like animals or the beauty, and I think the little fight or motivation I have in me even when all else is lost.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I would love to say nothing, and overall I have come to terms that what I can’t change I need to accept and what I can change I should/do change. In reality there are a few things I would like to change such as my perfectionism or my issues with executive function to name a couple. Though I constantly work on areas in my life or my personality where I struggle, sometimes it will always be an uphill battle.

What about blogging helps your mental health?
Since writing is my passion and I am a lot better writer than I am a talker. I would say being able to express my feelings through words in writing in general helps. Blogging is kind of self therapeutic on it’s own because it goes hand in hand as part of my writing habits now. When I meet other bloggers who say they relate to my experiences or I read their posts it makes me not feel so alone. Those would be a few reasons I can think of right now. What a great question!

Why do you blog?
I think for the most part I have already explained it as part of these two awards and I am sure many of my followers already know, but in case not I will hopefully explain again briefly. I blog to share my passion of writing in hopes to help myself and others dealing with similar life experiences. It inspires me to share my writing pieces and experiences as the feedback is always motivating and feels like I have a purpose I guess? I also hope to in some small way be a part of ending the stigmas attached to autism, it’s associated disorders and mental health issues. I also blog to meet, be inspired and not feel so alone who are going through similar things as me.

Who inspires you? Why?
My Oma, because of her amazing spirit, what she has overcome in life, her adventurous personality and she really does live life to the fullest. At 90 she is still traveling to Austria from Canada, still goes on walks and other adventures etc. She has and is still a very healthy person and she inspires that through her actions. (I wish I took note more often.)

My husband because before he came into my life I never really had anyone who challenged me (in a good way) yet still understands me and is very supportive. We try to bring out the best in each other etc.

How far have you come in β€œrecovery”?
In some ways I would like to say I have come very far. Through finding out about my diagnoses etc really helped towards my recovery with things like depression and learning to accept myself. Everyday is still a battle, but I have come a long way.

What’s your favorite book?
I have a few. A lot of the classics of course (The Outsiders, Catcher In The Rye, To Kill A Mockingbird etc) Eminem’s hard copy biography book he wrote (his music has always meant a lot to me and his book was equally as helpful/inspiring) Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist (probably because of my obsession with music) Where The Wild Things Are (one of my favorite children books) and a few more!

Do you meditate? Does it help your mental health?
No I do not, unfortunately. Although I am sure there are moments where I do meditate and actually don’t recognize that is what it is or I am just actually spacing out. Either way. xD I should really start to try meditating more though.

What age were you diagnosed?
My self discovery with autism, anxiety etc began in my mid twenties. I am still self diagnosed (surprising I know. A post to come about that soon and the guilt I feel about not being open enough about that tbh) I have never been diagnosed officially with depression and a few other mental health issues, I just am a believer I don’t need a diagnoses to know how I feel or am.

What’s your biggest triggers right now?
I honestly am not entirely sure. Thoughts of my past and things like that are still I find that triggers a lot of things. Crowded places, or very loud places etc triggers my anxiety or is one of the main triggers. Being over worked or off my routine. There are quite a few things that trigger each of my diagnoses or mental health problems.

I am a 30-year-old female living life on the autism spectrum and still trying to find my place in the world. I have other associated disorders or mental illnesses such as OCD, anxiety (generalized and social) and a history of depression to name a few. I love writing and have been writing different styles for as long as I can remember. Like most people who have a strong passion for writing I started writing stories and wrote in a journal in grade school. I remember specifically purchasing my first diary/journal that had a lock with my cousin when I was around 10 year-of-age. I was very excited to start writing in it as it was the first fanciest and most formal writing tool I owned. I think that was when my writing journey really began as I started to write daily. Some of my main goals for this blog is to write about autism, it's associated disorders and my life in hopes to help others. To spread awareness and educate in hopes to end some of the stigmas society has attached to things mental illness and autism. To meet like minded bloggers or be inspired by other writers. Other than that I will post or share anything that is of interest or pops into my head. As I grow older, the more I understand about myself and experience life I find myself wanting to seek a further diagnoses or a reevaluation. That is part of the reason why I am opening a new blog here and the reason for my new found blog name. So I hope you all will join me on my continued journey and new discoveries. My diagnoses are not all who I am so here are some random facts about myself. Some of my hobbies besides writing include music, The Sims 3, Xbox, Netflix, scrapbooking and the outdoors. I have a very strong passion for music. It is like my drug/medicine/obsession and you may catch me from time to time preaching it like a religion. Apologies in advance I am married to a man who is not on the spectrum, but he is as equally as amazing and I am insanely in love with him. Like my rants about my life and music you will also hear a lot about him. I was born and raised in Canada who recently seeked Permanent Residence in the USA, so I am no longer an illegal alien. Although I am still an 'alien' tbh. I say imo and tbh too much. (imo = in my opinion/tbh = to be honest) They are also probably the only two abbreviations you will catch me using as one of my many pet peeves are people who 'typ like dis' The only thing that probably makes me a stereotypical Canadian is my obsession with hockey. I am a very organized person. However, it is normally with things that don't really matter in life such as my files on my computer that are organized in folders, within folders... I often can be perceived as rude at first until you get to know me. I have a huge imagination. Some of my favorite animals are dogs, cats, monkeys, penguins and elephants. I prefer animals to humans tbh. Basically I am another complexed human being like everyone else trying to find her way through life and I welcome you all to my newly found blog.
